Nikki wanted to fly and my friend Bill has a plane and flying is his heroin. =)
Weather was quite good for a flight, there was some haze and it was bad when it was between us and the sun... but as long as the sun was to our backs the view was spectacular! Bill mentioned that the Mavericks Surf competition was going on. So after cruising from Alameda, across the city, over the Golden Gate, and up to Point Reyes... we headed to Half Moon Bay.
The air space on the way there was a little crowded so Bill didn't get to enjoy the view as much on the way there. We landed in HMB and walked out to the coast. Mavericks is not easy to see from land, so we enjoyed it from afar and on a jumbo-tron.
After scoping the scene and a little jock-sniffing, we boarded the plane and headed back north over SF and back to Alameda.

Wow! What a way to see the city. Bill offered a ride in his new toy... slipped out of work and I was there!
We took off from Oakland/Alameda airport headed north then followed the Bay Bridge, over SF to the Golden Gate, then headed north over Stinson Beach, then turned east over Mount Tam, then south over Sausalito, back over the Golden Gate, east along north SF, over Treasure Island, and back to the Airport.
First ride is free... I'm afraid I'm addicted!
