Surely was "before the sweat"... but it should have been more like "Beau, before he lost a lung" ...I'm still wheezing. But I'd ride up all seven hells again tomorrow. Totally stoked that I'm not sore.
Actually missed hill 5, due to a flat tire. But I fixed it quick enough to climb over hill 6, then climb it a second time with the whole group in order to make up for missing hill 5. Not finishing was not an option.
I love my bikes.
Thx to Yann for challenging me to ride this with him.
Here's a link to Frank's wrap up on Flickr. With a shoutout. Woot!
And an SFBG article about the rider from fellow rider Kat Renz: The road to hell is paved with potholes
For a pissing contest, see the discussion about which SF hills are the steepest, see this event on Yelp, apparently we missed a couple of SF's steeper hills, I guess there's time for a part two.
Here's the current top 10 ('cause they could change over time!)

8. Duboce between Castro and Divisadero, 25 percent.
9. Jones between Pine and California, 24.8 percent.

Jon and I cycled to Tiburon and back.
We took a small detour up the Marin Headlands and down the west side. This downhill is very thrilling. A nice guy at the top warned us to beware the speed trap at the bottom. Though the speed is quite a rush, it wasn't worth a $193 ticket. So, sadly, we attempted to stay under 15mph w/o using up our brake pads.
The Bay was so clear you could see the San Mateo Bridge from the Marin Headlands. I love this view of San Francisco.
A total of 44 miles of fun... I'm beat... don't know if I'm gonna make it to see Ghostland Observatory.
I was just at Mikes Bikes in SOMA picking up some new cycing cleats... and a couple had a bike stolen off the back of their car right out front. They were majorly bummed.
Having your bike stolen really sucks; it can leave you in physical pain. I wouldn't wish this upon anyone. I've had two bikes stolen... and another was sold at a yard sale by a crappy roommate who had moved out while I was in Beijing for two months.
The first one that was stolen was a present from my mom's boyfriend (now my stepdad) when I was 14. It was kind of an unspoken token of friendship and I was totally stoked to have a really nice mountian bike. It was stolen one day after school while I was in junior high. A few months later my mom's boyfriend was collecting food for our chickens behind a health food store and found it... only a few blocks from where it was stolen. He picked me up real quick to confirm that it was the same bike. I was so happy to have it back and even more happy that I wasn't carrying any guilt of losing a bike that was bought as a token of friendship.
Funny thing.. whomever was currently using it, had tied a bunch of reflectors to the bike with string... kinda odd adding safety to the bike if they were the one who had stolen it.
People who steal bikes suck.
