Learn Japanese: Three words a day!

Thanks for Voxing this, Beau! I'm going to Japan for the first time at the end of the month, so it's exceedingly handy.

omg me too. I love this. I know when I try to use it in public, people are amused/bemused, but dammit, I like new languages.

Sou Omoimasu!

[this is good]

nomimono o kudasai

[this is good]

bi-ru o kudasai

Dice suggested that we upload the sounds as audio files... hmm... full of good ideas that guy!

[this is good]

ie ni kaeru jikan desu - It's time to go home

[this is good]

I agree with Dice's suggestion!

Loic should really do this, but in his absence, the french translation:

ikimasho - let's go - on y vas
onaka suita - I am hungry - J'ai faim
nomimono o kudasai - I need a drink - J'ai besoin d'un verre
Bonus: bi-ru o kudasai - I need a beer - J'ai besion une bierre
daijobu - no problem - Pas de problem
wakarimashita - I see or I understand - je comprends
sansei desu - I agree - je suis d'accord

I would like to request video, rather than audio. Somebody has to have video on their cameraphones at work.

Ooo! Fun. I was getting into character this afternoon and practicing. It's really fun to speak Japanese or Chinese when you over-pronounce and really mean what you say. Funny... but in my experience you are usually better understood when you stress the words more than you think you should. =) Mmmmmmm! Viiiideooooo.

I have a video camera on both my phone and my camera that I carry with me. I'd be happy to provide video. I'd like to learn Japanese too!

Husband says "nomimono o kudasai" and "bi-ru o kudasai" should be translated as "I'd like to have a drink/beer, please" when you are asking someone for it, not expressing that you would like one to someone other than a waiter/host.

Not being cocky, but as someone who has made more than her share of language blunders, just want to help everyone understand the correct time to use these phrases. :-)

arigato !!
I lived in Japan and speak the language. I hope you're learning intonation too. It's even, flat. Does not have the highs and lows of English or sing-song qualities of Chinese.

Thanks for the tip, I`ll keep that in mind. :-). Seriously, I wasn`t trying to offend you, just had a bad day. Sorry! Peace?

No offense taken. No harm done. I'm a student, mind open, ready to absorb knowledge =)
